How to replace RAMs (Random Access Memory)

To replace RAM (Random Access Memory) in a computer, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Power off the computer and unplug it from the wall.
  2. Remove the computer’s cover, which is typically held in place by a few screws or clips.
  3. Locate the RAM slots on the motherboard. These are typically located near the CPU and are long, thin slots with small tabs on either end.
  4. Press down on the tabs on either end of the RAM slot to release the current RAM module. Carefully pull the module out of the slot.
  5. Carefully align the new RAM module with the slot, making sure that the notches on the module line up with the tabs on the slot.
  6. Gently press down on the module until it clicks into place.
  7. Replace the computer’s cover and plug it back in.
  8. Turn on the computer and check if the new RAM is recognized and working correctly.

Note: It’s important to ground yourself before handling computer hardware to avoid electrostatic discharge that can damage the components.
